Knowledge Level Required

We would hope that if you are coming along on a large format workshop you will have a general knowledge of camera use; apertures, shutter speeds etc. You don’t have to have any knowledge of large format cameras or film use.

Don’t worry – we won’t be dragging you up any mountains. The workshop will involve no more than a short stroll on established paths of no more than a mile or so.

This workshop is aimed at

Our workshop is aimed at photographers who want to try out large format landscape photography for the first time and photographers who have some their own large format equipment but have little experience using it.

Basic Itinerary

We will meet at 9am for a 9.30 start and spend the morning going over large format cameras and associated equipment. We will then look at camera use including composing images, focusing and metering. In the afternoon we will put our cameras to use - with carpets of heather, the Peak District is transformed is September, providing endless possibilities for landscape photography. Depending on the weather we’ll visit dramatic edges with stunning views, or if it rains we’ll visit established birch woods with views out to the heathered moors.

What you need to bring

Outdoor clothing –this is The Peak District so be prepared for bad weather – we ask you to bring waterproof clothing (because we still shoot in the rain!) warm outdoor wear and outdoor footwear.

Extra film over the amount provided – we can provide you with extra film which will be charged at cost. We can provide changing tents so you can load your own film.

We do not cover personal accident insurance or travel insurance and recommend that you adequate personal insurance.

Booking details

To secure your place on the September 2012 One Day Large Format Photography workshop we ask for a £60 deposit. The remaining £140 is required 30 days before the workshop begins. We will send you a PayPal invoice 7 days before the due date. If you prefer we can take your deposit and final payment over the phone or you can send a cheque. If you wish to pay by cheque please contact us before hand so we can confirm that places are available and we can book you on the course immediately. If you prefer you can pay the full amount now by selecting that option from the drop down selection box below.

Once we have received your payment we will contact you to get some details about your experience, special requirements etc.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and will be required to pay the full workshop amount.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your place on the workshop, 50% of your deposit will be refunded up to 30 days before the workshop begins. Your deposit will not be refunded during the 30 days leading up to the workshop.

If, for any reason, a workshop is cancelled you will receive a full refund or if you prefer we will try to accommodate you on one of our other workshops.
